A glimpse at fashion

In silence, I took a glimpse of fashion and I found ugliness in it. Every now and then you have to look for something different, something extra-ordinary. The value for something when you don't have it, makes you crave endlessly for it. The value for that thing when you have it, makes you mad and you ask questions. Still in silence, I take a glimpse at fashion, because in knowing what you are, in knowing what to say, that defines fashion. In perfection, I can never be contended, In perfection it can never be reached. In my silence, In my perfection, I took a glimpse at fashion, where nothing else needed to be added to it, when nothing else needed to be taken away, and as that gentleman I refused to talk about my fashion designer. I was wrong.

My environment!!!

My environment, a dump filled with greed, a piece of shit we do to ourselves and others, a war zone we till with our bare hands, but yet no shields while on the battle field. My environment, a disaster it has turned out to be because of the greed of you and I.  My romantic environment has been skinned off by me, by you, by us all. We only think of our today, but forget that our environment is one vital thing for our tomorrow. It entails our resources, but the greedy ones want it all to themselves, yet we cherish the greedy ones and not the environment. With so many beautiful homes around us, especially in the Lekki peninsula, of what use is it  when our environment isn't tolerable? Deforestation has become a norm, because the more greedy people want to acquire more lands to themselves, they want to build universities, they want to own companies and be a force to be reckoned with. But they forget my environment is enough to satisfy every man's needs.

Her parents gave her that all through her childhood, and in time as she grew, she understood that religion was an important aspect in her family's life. They worshiped Ala' then (not Allah). Stay straight...

Growing up was difficult for me. And just as I was mostly alone with my thoughts, I couldn't understand clearly what was happening around me. All I understood about my life was, I was Male, and I knew my age. I had a mom, but no dad. I knew my mom and late dad had some sexual intimacy and I was brought to life. At age 14, I was at Ogba and I saw this very man urinating on the floor. Well, that was normal. But the abnormal thing about what happened later was he didn't tuck his private parts in his trousers, but he made with into having a sexual intercourse with a tree. Since, I had no idea what he was doing, I overlooked it and walked away.

Overcoming fear..

Lekan lived an independent life, disliked by his dad, loved by his mom, hated by so many persons. Lekan was done with high school and believed gaining an admission into the University was the next step. He was behind his friends who had gained admission into the University and as he waited and hoped that he would get into a prestigious University, all hopes died down. His dad disliked him more and every time his dad saw him, he said, 'you will never make it'. Lekan never listened to his dad, but he was adamant on believing that the upcoming exams he would cross through and gain admission into that University.

In the beginning, they made it look like the world was safe, like everything had a true meaning. At a tender age, we believed in dreams, we hoped the things we would become someday would come to pass. Some of us wished to be doctors, some lawyers, but then things changed when we passed through the learning process the school system gave us. As time passed, we got to understand that the world was totally different, it was a world created for only those who are willing to survive. We go through different ridiculous interviews and it's a miracle finding that job that fits you, or perhaps, a job that can pay the bills.

My Pain...Our struggle.,,

Just about when life was getting interesting. Just about when things were going good, dad left us. In 1999, dad died and mom became a widow. She became a single parent and as family would put it, mom killed dad. She performed traditional rites to proof she wasn't involved in an untimely death of my dad. I wonder how they know when it's someones time to die. But she did and nothing happened. A dad who died and was left with 3,000 naira as his savings (app. 20 dollars). Family wanted his little belongings, his uncomfortable chairs, his books, and everything he had. Oh, the poor man even had a small land which the government took from him. Mom decided that her four kids won't have to go to anyone for aid, and she decided to do it all herself.
