A decay of social values.

Advertising has been seen as a form of communication intended to persuade existing customers, public, target audience, etc to purchase products or services. And as more advertising has become more prevalent in modern times, we can't seem to run away from it. It's been shocking to see some of the most consistent and successful organisations fail to persuade their existing customers in believing in their products and services. The video above is an example of a pure advert going in an impure direction.

The concept: Totally awkward. An unknown environ used. A lady receiving or making a phone call, and there comes the well-known fuji musician Pasuma taking a walk and staring at the lady. What aim are they achieving? We all know that it is difficult to get hold of celebrities only when we want to take autographs. But Nigerians do not need autographs, they only need pictures. No sense in the concept as I see it.

The service: The primary aim of advertising is to sell and help sell goods and services. The immediate aims of those who advertise are to increase demand for a particular service, direct demand existing for such service, divert demand from competitors and retain demand already realized. Only if this is successful there will be results. In this case, it is totally a blurred vision.

Influence: The most common elements of advertising would involve information and suggestion. What information does this portray? What are they suggesting? What may be insulting to someone may be amusing to another. But in particular this advert is one really annoying one. Are you saying each time I see a celebrity I should pick my phone and ask the celebrity to talk to everyone I know? Is that the information you are passing?

Advertising in some cases can be seen as a life-line of modern business, For us, we see it as a waste. Whatsapp for example has made it possible for one to believe that businesses can be successful without advertising. We learn in different ways from advertising, but for this particular advert, it is a waste of money, resources, and it is totally insulting to a particular class.
