..disfigured dreams

In the beginning, they made it look like the world was safe, like everything had a true meaning. At a tender age, we believed in dreams, we hoped the things we would become someday would come to pass. Some of us wished to be doctors, some lawyers, but then things changed when we passed through the learning process the school system gave us. As time passed, we got to understand that the world was totally different, it was a world created for only those who are willing to survive. We go through different ridiculous interviews and it's a miracle finding that job that fits you, or perhaps, a job that can pay the bills.
And just as one tries to grow his career path, some organizations tend to leave some people in the same position as they started. It becomes really unbearable, painful to move ahead, that some days, the only thing that counts in the job is the chair that spins and all you wish for is to quit.  After serving a long term for the organisation and hoping you would get promoted, the boss calls on you and you get laid off. As one grows old, looking at different ads, still hoping to secure themselves a job, to stay in that survival chain, he approaches a more ridiculous ad and all he could wish for is to define success in his own perspective. Doing what he chooses and loves and get paid for it. After much wasted effort, he reflects on his life from the beginning with a bottle of Guinness in his hands, weighing his intended career and actual paths. He falls asleep, and dreams of himself as that kid who had always wished life was more meaningful, of that kid who once had a dream.
