Career Path gone wrong!!!

The late nights we had just to make sure we had the best grades. The difficult things we had to go through in school, but one way or the other we got through them. Doing different certifications, getting several awards, achieving so much results and yet we don't get what we want. It can be heart breaking. And someone may just loose their minds. Some of us have been in that shoe, but how do you kick start your career path? Well, whatever will be implied doesn't mean it would work for everyone, but then it is something worth giving a try.

Some may not love what they do, but because of the job insecurity, they tend not to leave, but they choose to find something else before they do leave, some don't have jobs, some are yet to know what the business world is about. At the expense of this all, we all have this imbalance, on how to create a platform where the organisation would find us as the most important person for the job. We build our LinkedIN profile, we design our resumes with all the brightest of ideas in hope for a call from these organisations, but then nothing.

At such point, any advice will be regarded as the best advice, even if it is the wrongest of advice. You will go through different websites, seminars, talk-shows about what is wrong with your resume. You will want to know the reason you haven't been called? You will make changes on your resumes, and still, no calls from these organisations. What do these people want? How can one get to establish a network with someone who knows someone, who knows the person who is hiring to fill the position of your dreams? Do you feel people can help you? Do you think these people who can help can't be of help to you? The good news is, there are people out there who can.

There are different ways to connect with people. The internet has given us so many advantages and of course so many disadvantages, and since you know the advantages, why not make good use of it. There are ways to reach out to these organisations, the organisations are not ran by computers, but by people, and they also have gone through one way or the other what you are going through.

I met someone someday, and he shared with me his mistakes on so many interviews he had. And I was like, how can you know your mistakes? the interview was done and they don't tell you what mistakes you may have made. So, how did you know your mistakes? He told me, he went extra miles to meet with whoever interviewed him, or find out from someone to ask whoever interviewed him to know what went wrong. Today, he is the logistic manager for a very well known organisation.

Talk to people, visit seminars, reach out to them and don't be scared. You have a professional networking website, called LINKEDIN, make good use of it. There are ways to go through things on that platform, read about success stories, and help those who are yet to understand what is happening in the business environment. Help them understand that their dreams won't be cut short, and that they can achieve their dreams as much as they can with the help of you and I. Find a mentor, and if you don't, force someone to be, they will have no other reason but to accept you. You are not too young to do a voluntary job, if it is your dream job, learn from it. Gain ideas, build yourself, and just do it.

When you get no response, don't give up. I got my first job by being stubborn. I challenged a man and we kept arguing and I stood my ground. He was shocked that I knew nothing of what I was talking about, but I stood my ground, and he offered me a job, just like that. According to him, 'there shouldn't be a reason for an interview for this person', he deserves a job. Don't give up. Always be active, and build your dreams.
