Advertising N Celebrities

Advertising demands an aspect of our every day lives, it pervades our space and fuels demand for junk we don't need. In understanding the benefits of celebrity usage endorsements, there are basic elements to look out for

Positions a brand: Service positioning is an art of convincing the consumers that the service being advertised is the best on the market and that every other is inferior. From the video above, do these celebrities position this brand? Have they convinced their consumers it's the best service on the market?

Build awareness: Celebrities who are well respected can add value to a product or service. If this element is a measure of how people can be familiar with organisational products and services, how does this advert build awareness to the public? I HAVE NO IDEA..

Breathe life into a failing brand: This is already a failing brand that has no life in it. Celebrities are supposed to help revive a product or service that is losing it's market share. This advert shown in the video above hasn't started it's market share, but it is already failing.

Attract new users: Organisations find it hard to keep new customers, and therefore, in using a celebrity to endorse organisational products or services, who can entice new customers can be seen as a factor. But please, not Ini Edo.

There are a number of potential problems about using celebrities. The relationship, either long or short between the brand can affect the behavior of audiences and this can impact on consumers. If the celebrity positive image changes, problems would evolve as it would lead to organisational brand decline. For example, Rita Dominic who was an ambassador for Glo was used at a certain period of time, but with her recent drawbacks in her acting career, and other personal issues, she was dropped. But then being said. the celebrity used in this advert will only make such service provided by the organisation successful only if the celebrity matches with the brand, and the target audience. For us, this is going to be a failure if it isn't already.
