I recently saw an ad "ICSL temporary job placement" and wondered if I could give an insight into the organization and inform people on what they need to know.
ICSL: Information Connectivity Solutions Limited, a provider of premium broadband network infrastructure and connectivity solutions. They provide a "stable" and highly available wireless network solutions to banks, and some organizations as well as individuals.
What is going on presently in ICSL: There has been reports that the organization is rolling on ice and about to fall deep in the abyss. There is a clear difference between learning a skill and mastering one. And presently, the leader who leads the organization is merely learning a skill, but yet to master one. The former leader was taken out and a new leader was introduced. Well, I will give you an insight. You remember the Obasanjo saga with his son and his wife. You remember the lady who Baba had a thing with. Well, her husband presently has been called to lead the organization. And the question the shareholders should ask is if he is a born leader or leader made with words.
The leader was introduced to the company to help the company run as it should. He has been introduced into the company to understand it's environment. But judging from what I am seeing, he is going to fail woefully. Now, if an organization is running at a heavy loss, which happens in the business world, there are steps to take. I can't tell the leader what he should do, and how he should run his organisation, but then there are things he should avoid before it gets too late.
The leader has failed to do this
create a problem-solving environment. Everyone knows the reason why the former leader was taken off and why a new leader was introduced. What was the former leader not doing? Why was the organisation not hungry? Why must turnarounds be done? The new leader came in, and his first decision was to move the company from its original place, to a more cheaper environment. Why? So as to cut costs. Cutting costs is great, especially when the company isn't making profit. But cut cost and make profit. But the new leader has decided to cut costs at so many angles.
take care of your company like it's your home: if you have staffs at home and one does the wrong thing, it is left for the owner to give him a second chance, or fire him. In ICSL, a driver was supposed to be given a hilux truck if he performed well for just one year. And he took diesel for his personal use without the consent of the company. He was fired. Which is the leaders decision. Tomiwa, who happens to be the financial analyst isn't liked by a lady in the office, but then he was fired, because the leader refused to find out what his skills are, and why Tomiwa is important for the organization. The leader is living in a house, but not his home. And that is what is going on at ICSL presently.
Empower employees: The most interesting part about ICSL is the employees. They are dedicated, and they love what they do. They have been challenged in so many ways, and they are doing what they do best. But then, they are fired, why? Because the leader has chosen to cut costs. The best employees salaries have been cut off, but are not letting them take initiatives. They only have to listen to the leader, he brings the ideas, and everyone adopts his ideas. No one uses his/her initiatives anymore. It is just the leader working. No team play, and no focused goal.
ICSL is letting the important employees off, just by reducing costs. And that is why temporary job placements are being advertised. Work in ICSL presently, and live a sad life.
