Arise, O compatriots,
(Our compatriots have been killed)
Nigeria's call obey
(I wonder who will)
To serve our Fatherland
(my fathers land has been shared by crooks)
With love and strength and faith.
(with lies, criminals and pains)
The labour of our heroes past
(sadly, we have no hero)
Shall never be in vain,
(all is in vain)
To serve with heart and might
(stealing with soul body n spirit)
One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.
(nation bound in sorrows, sadness and problems)
O God of all creation
(please intervene)
Direct our noble cause
(cause we are lost)
Guide our leaders right
(cos they act like gods)
Help our youth the truth to know
(they live in speculation)
In love and honesty to grow
(sounds like a pipe dream)
And live in just and true
(that can never happen)
Great lofty heights attain
(for our personal purpose)
To build a nation where peace
(all I see is war)
And justice shall reign.
(and the wicked exist)
